Designed by the Byborre textile studio for Febrik, Apparel is a knitted upholstery fabric that refers to the fashion world.
On a background of discontinuous lines sewn in diagonal, Apparel presents an emerging pattern of abstract forms inspired by the plane of different elements of the garment. As a constantly changing landscape, these forms come to life especially when the fabric is applied to larger furniture.
Between the two woven layers of the fabric, thick polyester threads are inserted. This construction, along with the soft wool surface of Apparel, gives the design a comfortable and quilted expression.
Although Apparel presents a mixing expression when seen from the distance, when seen closely, it reveals an intricate set of colors and overlapping shapes. This is due to their color combinations, which are built with three unicolor threads, in different shades.
The clothing palette includes contrasting notes, ranging from earth to blue and intense red tones. Extensive and versatile, it offers excellent possibilities to combine with unicolored textiles.
Usually, for a knitting fabric, Apparel offers excellent stretching properties that make it ideal for upholstering organic shapes. Due to its padded construction, the textile is recommended for private spaces and public areas of little traffic.
