Description:

The imposing presence of one of the most powerful armies of the ancient world has inspired this limited series of Haute Porcelain depicting an Assyrian archer, almost a metre tall, who transports us to a past of splendour. Assurbanipal, the last great king of Assyria, had a library built in Nineveh and during his breaks he used to release lions in the park and fight them hand to hand. This mixture of cultural wealth and imperial strength is represented in this warrior. The white linen tunic down to his feet, the bracelets and armlets, the helmet, the leather shoes and quiver, the bow with a golden handle .... all speak of the character's power and wealth. The result is a work that will forever evoke the splendour of one of the most fascinating civilisations in history.
