Information

Featuring peacocks, stylised palm trees and lotus flowers above a tranquil river, this charming wall mural is based on an exquisite work of Indian art from the early 18th century. Dramatically enlarged from the small hand-painted painting to form a striking large-scale mural, the motif is now repeated across the wall in a splendid celebration of the spirit of the original masterpiece. Beautiful black and orange tones create a night landscape with a starry sky.

Available in 2 colour options: Day and Night

One roll contains 4 panels (A, B, C and D) for the complete design. The design can be repeated to cover more walls using another roll in the same order (A, B, C and D) until the desired surface is covered. Depending on the height of the wall, the panel can be trimmed at the top, bottom or both sides to create the desired scene.

Ragini Garland Mural Inspiration file: Illustration from a series of ragamala, ink and opaque watercolour on paper, Deccan, South India, ca. 1700.

This mural is based on a ragamala illustration of the musical mode Kakubha Ragini, which flourished in the royal courts of India in the 1700s and 1800s. The unifying theme of a ragamala is love, which is represented through a variety of emotions with corresponding musical forms. This contemporary version conveys the diurnal and nocturnal aspects of this important pictorial genre and captures the fascinating symbolism, history and artistry of the original.
